Hi and a little about this blog……..

Hi, most of you who visit my blog will know what I am doing but for those of you who don’t here is a little information.

I arrived in Tanzania at the end of May 2013. I am working at Neema Crafts, Iringa, Tanzania. Hopefully for a number of years, God willing. I am an Occupational Therapist, primarily I work with children with disabilities and the disabled adults employed at Neema Crafts, although I try to help anyone who comes to see me. Some people are disabled from birth and others following accidents or illnesses. Neema crafts Project employs a number of adults to make crafts, run a café, shop and guest house. If you’re interested please go to their website: http://neemacrafts.com/ . The website tells a lot more about why this project was set up and when etc.

I want my blog to show my journey – the ups and downs – the joys, fun, hardships and frustrations. To give you an idea of what it is like for me living and working in Tanzania. I also want to thank all of you who have supported me throughout my journey, which started in the UK, applying to Church Mission Society to send me here, then the fund raising, visa applications and finally the arrival and working – I’ve only just begun! (that reminds me of a song!)

If you would like to receive e-mails telling you when I’ve added a new post there is a place to input your e-mail address (I think to the right of where your reading). If after reading any of what I have written you would like more information or would like to give funds towards the work here then please contact me on the e-mail address or postal address to the right. You can also give through ‘Charity Choice’ on the Neema Crafts website – make sure you leave a message that it is funding specifically for ‘Therapy’.

Hope you enjoy reading this. God’s blessing.

Love Mim xx
